| a global question about php , do you think that in pdo (the native php, not the aura extendedpdo) a native php method to get a collection you be something usefull? with fetchAll you already can have an array of object||array but if you want an object of oject or an object of array you need to build it yourself. this behaviour is implemented in a lot of framework/orm/db asbstraction in php but I think implemented this antively can | 16:54 |
| be gret. what do you about this? | 16:54 |
| brandonsavage, mbrevda or D-Boy no response to this? | 17:01 |
brandonsavage
| grummfy: Didn't see it until you pinged me | 17:01 |
| I think this would be useful, the problem with PDO is that it has no real maintainer | 17:01 |
| Nobody to own it, care for it, improve it. | 17:02 |
grummfy
| oki, but I think to send a mail to internal to submit the idea (I don't have the skill to do it yet) and overall no time but hope someone want (and overall have time to do it). | 17:03 |
| pdo is in the core of php now? Or still outside of it? | 17:05 |
brandonsavage
| Yeah, its in core. | 17:28 |
| Feel free to send them the idea, though I wouldn't hold your breath about them accepting it or implementing it. But they might. | 17:29 |
grummfy

mbrevda
| grummfy: I don't like PDO's object handling all together | 20:44 |
| For example: fetchObject can't be routed via a Di, making it almost useless for me | 20:45 |
| Which means I end up doing my own object instantiation. So doing my own collection instantiation isn't such a big deal | 20:46 |
| (See pmj's ADR example for a code example of what I mean) | 20:46 |
| grummfy: also, what was your Di question? | 20:47 |
| He's not even here 😔 | 20:50 |
